Facebook and Instagram share a single Meta authorization. Whichever you pick in the connection panel, you sign in to Facebook and approve one set of permissions — then Nylon asks which specific Pages or accounts to add.

Before you start

  • Facebook connects Pages, not personal profiles. You have to be an administrator of the Page.
  • Instagram connects Business and Creator accounts, not personal ones. Convert the account in the Instagram app first — Settings → Account type and tools.
  • An Instagram account is reached through the Facebook Page it is linked to. If the two are not linked, Nylon cannot see the Instagram account at all.

Connect

1

Pick Facebook Page or Instagram Business

Open Connections → Add connection and choose either. They start the same Meta flow.
2

Approve every permission

Meta lets you approve selectively, and dropping one permission is the single most common reason this flow finishes with nothing to connect. Approve all of them.
3

Choose what to connect

Back in Nylon, a dialog lists what the authorization found — Choose Facebook Pages or Choose Instagram accounts. Select one or more and confirm. The button names what you are about to do: Connect Page, Connect account, or Connect 3 Pages.
Each Page or account you select becomes its own profile in your connections list.

Rows you cannot select

In the Instagram dialog, a Page with no Instagram account attached is listed but greyed out, with No Instagram account linked where the handle would be. It is shown rather than hidden so you can tell “this Page is not linked yet” apart from “Nylon could not see this Page at all” — link the account on Facebook, then reconnect.

If nothing is found

Meta was reached, but the account you authorized had nothing Nylon could add. Almost always one of:
  1. You signed in with the wrong Facebook account. It has to be one that administers the Page.
  2. You did not grant every permission. Run the flow again and approve all of them.
  3. The Instagram account is personal. Convert it to Business or Creator, then try again.
  4. The Instagram account is not linked to a Page. Link it in the Page’s settings first.

Reconnecting

Reconnecting a Facebook or Instagram profile takes you straight back into the Meta flow with that profile pre-selected, rather than making you find it again among every Page you administer.
